Since the last generation of Nissan was launchedMicra on the market, it was immediately understood that the brand has tried to focus on angular lines to attract a slice of young and dynamic, almost fashion. The same profile of the front and rear light clusters are sharpened like a blade and with sharp edges, while the whole front block is the part that most declare the dynamism of this small city car. The well-rounded, pointed grille with the lines of the bonnet, as well as the whole design of the lower part of the bumper, with a hint of the splitter, bring out the distinctive character of the new Nissan Micra. At the rear, on the other hand, the bumper fascia with large shoulders captures the attention, while at the top there is a tailgate that creates a hexagonal geometry that includes the plate holder.
2019 Nissan Micra Interior
The very fact of proposing bright and colorful colors for the interiors is a symptom of how this 2019 Nissan Micra can breach the heart of the clientele that is entering the world of cars, as well as covering a slice of the market that sees potential buyers already surf the guide.
The tonal contrasts of the seats enliven and brighten the interior, with colors that are also recalled by the inserts that appear on the dashboard. The steering wheel is generous in size but has the flat bottom, which is usually reserved for sports versions, while the instrumentation has been preferred a classic and tested solution with analog dials and a 5-inch central display for onboard information. Even the internal lines continue to recall what is a bit ‘the trend of the body, which therefore offers large and flat surfaces but also edges and corners.
The central tunnel is the space dedicated to the 5-speed manual transmission of the trial version, but there is a discreet tray for grouping frequently used objects such as the smartphone or the cardholder. Manual and single-zone climate control, which lives with three physical knobs exactly below the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
2019 Nissan Micra Features
The Japanese do not like to be second in terms of technology, so even a city car like the Nissan Micra has been equipped with a good package of ADAS, the active and passive driving assistance systems. Assistive products such as Intelligent Ride Control or uphill start assistance, cruise control and automatic headlights, automatic emergency lights or the tire pressure monitoring system. For the top-of-the-range version, with Tekna outfitting, a special package called Safety Pack Plus is also included, which also adds automatic emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, recognition of road signs and the warning and prevention system of the change of lane involuntary.
It’s time to get behind the wheel of the 2019 Nissan Micra and start our road test. We enter the car and we are faced with a two-colored plank, very nice to see and with a rational design. Excellent coatings in the upper part of the dashboard, less in the lower part. Good driving position, comfortable and ample space in the front seat, on the back sofa instead you touch with your head and legs. We turn on the engine and start.
Our Nissan Micra is equipped with the 1.0 horsepower 1.0. A three-cylinder engine with an absolutely sufficient power for the car, a propeller that is struggling to push at low revs, while at the top it has a good starting point. This leads to a lot of play with the five-speed gearbox: often you have to change gear and move to a lower gear to increase speed.
Excellent handling: the new Nissan Micra proves agile, with good road holding and excellent braking. Soft suspension, it is very comfortable even among the holes of the city. Consumption settles on an average of 14 km with a liter.
It is a car that acquires great personality compared to the past. The strengths are certainly design and safety. Pay a little in the quality of the assemblies and in the infotainment, which would need to be refreshed from a graphics point of view.
