2020 BMW 3 Series Fetures, Specs, Changes & More
The 2020 BMW 3 Series was presented at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, with level upgrades and advanced ADAS systems. The new BMW 3 Series, now close to invading the markets, was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2018. In recent times, the attention in the D segment has been turned towards the new Alfa Romeo Giulia, a direct rival of the Bavarian average, but the Germans are certainly not waiting. In fact, the new BMW 3 Series was launched at the Paris kermesse, with a stylistic and technical upgrade that follows in the footsteps of the latest BMW styling course, with a lot of driving pleasure thanks to the perfect weight distribution.
2020 BMW 3 Series Concept
To continue to be a benchmark in the D segment, BMW engineers have realized a weight reduction of 50 kg compared to the current model, mainly due to the more extensive use of aluminum components and thanks to cutting-edge processing. The CLAR platform is new and it’s the same one already used on the major sisters Series 5 and Series 7, while from the technical point of view the new 3 achieves the very expensive 50:50 ratio of weights on the two axles, with a frame, stiffened up to 50 % and MacPherson suspension at the front and Multilink five-arm at the rear. The pleasure of driving should, therefore, be guaranteed, thanks to the maintenance of the almost indispensable rear wheel drive.
2020 BMW 3 Series Updates – What’s New?
As is now customary for every new car model coming, premium and not only, much of the attention of the designers and the customer is towards electronics and driving assistance. On the new BMW 3 Series, all the latest driver assistance systems developed by the House of Monaco have been installed, alongside which the BMW 7.0 operating system for the on-board computer responds to voice commands and learns the driver’s habits. Everything then travels on two separate devices: an instrumentation that can live in a completely digital way thanks to a 12.2-inch display and the infotainment, which depending on the customer’s requests can be from 8.8 or 10.25 inches.
2020 BMW 3 Series Engine Specs
The engines that will see under the bonnet the new BMW 3 Series will be different, both in petrol and diesel configuration. In terms of petrol, the powers will be 184 and 258 horses, respectively for the 320i and 330i versions, while the diesel engines will have powers of 150 horses for the 318d, 190 horses the 320d and 265 for the 330d with the six-cylinder 3 liters.
But that’s not all: the 2020 BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid, the 330e Plug-in Hybrid, will also be in the range, but you’ll have to wait for summer 2019 to appreciate it, as well as to place your hands on the M340i with the six-cylinder 374 horsepower petrol.
