The range remains divided into two: the Urban versions are aimed at those looking for a city crossover, while the Cross is aimed for those who love a more off-road look and greater off-road performance.

The perhaps more substantial news, however, concerns the engines of the 2020 Fiat 500X, all in compliance with Euro 6d-temp. Among the offer of petrol engines, there is the 1.6 aspirated four-cylinder 110 hp, while the news is the new FireFly 1.0 and 1.3 liters. In detail, the 95 HP and 200 Nm 1.3 Multijet II engine is combined with the manual transmission and front-wheel drive; the 120 HP and 320 Nm 1.6 Multijet II turbodiesel can be combined with the 6-speed manual transmission or the dual-clutch DCT automatic, with front-wheel drive; finally, the 2.0 Multijet II engine with 150 hp and 350 Nm has a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

The interiors of the Fiat 500X have a retro flavor and present some innovations in the dashboard, in the instrument panel and with regard to seat upholstery.

on The Road

It’s time to get behind the wheel of a new Fiat 500x and start our road test. We get on board the car and we are facing renewed interiors. Brand new dashboard, with a display in the middle where many features of the car are depicted. Good space on board, both front, and back. Bello the new steering wheel, interior with more precious materials to the touch. The 7-inch touch screen UConnect system stands out in the center of the dashboard. We turn on the engine and start.

Our test drive car is powered by the new 125 hp 3-cylinder 1.0. This engine turns out to be a wonderful surprise: lively already from low revs, it is extremely aggressive, very responsive at the bottom and with a good extension. It never goes into trouble, neither in the city nor on extra-urban roads. And then it completes very well with the manual transmission, precise and fluid in the grafts.

Precise and consistent steering, excellent set-up of the car, a good mix of comfort and driving pleasure.

Many updates from an aesthetic point of view on the new Fiat 500X that keep it up with the times. But there are also many innovations under the hood, like this amazing engine. And then a lot of new technology at bord. In short: this Fiat 500X is a complete vehicle.
