Even before the opening of the Paris Motor Show 2018, the 2020 Mercedes A35 AMG 4Matic, a less peppery version of what will be the new Mercedes A45 AMG and suitable for those who do not want to exaggerate when approaching a high-performance vehicle, is shown without veils. The 2-liter engine is unchanged, but the power drops.

The new Mercedes A35 AMG can be seen as a direct rival of the Audi S3, with which it was not possible to compare the A45 AMG as the power gap was definitely important. This is because under the hood of this new entry level in the world of Affalterbach there will be a two-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, scaled down to a power of 306 horses.
The hot-hatch peppermint will not lose its sporty connotation anyway and can be perceived even simply by looking at it externally, with a riot of aerodynamic surfaces that culminate in the rear of the generously sized spoiler. But the famous 4MATIC all-wheel drive also ensures that the power to the ground is always perfectly balanced, trying to share the torque – we are talking about a maximum of 400 Nm that develops this engine – on the two axles. The result is a 0-100 km / h trip covered in 4.7 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250 km / h.
