2020 Mercedes CLA: Redesign, Specs, Interior | New Compact Sedan
The 2020 Mercedes CLA, presented at CES in Las Vegas, is renewed in aesthetics, but above all in technology. Here is All the Update on the car.
We are in an era when cars are presented in world premiere not at the salons of the sector but during the technological events, in this case the CES 2019 in Las Vegas. It was during this event that the 2020 Mercedes CLA was born for the first time, the result of a design launched with the Mercedes CLS and a technology seen from the new Mercedes A-Class.
The New Mercedes CLA takes on a difficult legacy, made of the previous generation that has made its way into a complicated segment, that of compact sedans. However, he apparently has all the credentials to do well and to be able to confirm – or even exceed – the success obtained by the most ancient sister.
2020 Mercedes CLA Redesign
The styling course adopted by Mercedes is clear, considering that aesthetically, the New CLA 2020 is inspired without too much veiling the new Mercedes CLS, of which we can undoubtedly appreciate both the optical groups and the roof trend. Shapes as always sinuous and carved according to the wind, so that this new sedan has recorded a Cx of 0.23.
The subject of dimensions is almost 5 centimeters more than the previous generation, with a total of 4 meters and 68 centimeters, then 1.83 meters wide – both the carriageways have been enlarged compared to the outgoing version – and 1.44 meters in height. The front bonnet shows ribs that give character, complete with full LED headlamps front with position lights that live in the form of LED strip, but it is perhaps the rear to attract more attention: the tapered tail makes the whole car more compact, while the lower part that wants to simulate almost an extractor makes it even more slender and slender. In short, well done Mercedes.
2020 Mercedes CLA Interior & Equipment
But surely the interior is the most interesting part of the 2020 Mercedes CLA. Not so much for the shape of the interior, which almost entirely recalls the new generation of A-Class, as for the infotainment. Also here is the MBUX platform, Mercedes Benz User Experience. This is the virtual assistant of Mercedes, completely developed in house by the German company, with which you can talk in a more natural way, a bit ‘as you do with Google or Amazon assistants. Lowering or raising the interior temperature will no longer require mechanical formulas outside of which the car does not understand the voice command, as well as the start of playlists and many other options. A good step forward from a technological point of view, more and more towards that future in which cars will be an extension, for example, of our smartphone and our life, which can be private or professional.
