The Detroit Motor Show 2019 continues to churn out news, despite the absence of European brands emblazoned like Mercedes or BMW, which have preferred the consumer electronics show CES 2019. Not only the new Toyota GR Supra among the Japanese sports present at NAIAS 2019, but also the Subaru WRX STI S209, the special version only for the American market.
2020 Subaru WRX STI Engine Specs
It echoes the name Subaru WRX STI once again, but this time it does so in an even more aggressive way and with the necessary precautions to make it more performing. Subaru Tecnica International has launched the first S-Line model in the range, which as such has provided a series of technical upgrades to make it special, in fact. First of all the engine, which boasts the most powerful engine brand ever produced for an STI: the 2.5-liter boxer has reached the maximum power of 341 horsepower, with a delivery curve suitable for use in all driving conditions and from every driver. The increased power was achieved thanks to a larger HKS turbocompressor, as was the entire suction compartment to be revised to try to convey as much air as possible inside the block.
This version that will see the end of the production once reached the two hundred copies has also undergone some improvements from the aerodynamic point of view, as you can see both from the front block, both the bonnet and the rear spoiler, this carbon as well as it’s the roof.
To curb this Japanese supercar we think a braking system completely signed by Brembo, while only the six-speed manual transmission option is available, which then brings the power developed to the four wheels through the Symmetrical All Wheel Drive, which has central differential, Torque Vectoring active and various driving modes available.
