The new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ ‘Jota’ was unveiled at the Monterey Car Week, after beating the Nurburgring record
The J stands for Jota inside the abbreviation that accompanies the name of the new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the car that already has on the bulletin the fastest lap for the series cars at the Nurburgring, concluded in 6: 44.97. The new hypercar of the Toro di Sant’Agata Bolognese has managed to once again move the performance bar upwards, with dizzying numbers and thus confirming the best performance Lamborghini ever.
Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Specs
This was possible thanks to a series of works that involved both the mechanical part and the aerodynamics. The 6.5-liter twelve-cylinder engine features a new intake and a new lighter exhaust system than the Lamborghini Aventador that we have seen so far, as well as on titanium valves. This meant not only the achievement of a power of 770 horses and a torque of 720 Nm but also the ability to reach the maximum speed of 350 km / h or to cover the shot 0-100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds. Everything is also thanks to the work of the new aerodynamics, revisited and obviously strong of the ALA aerodynamics system and offering 1% less aerodynamic drag compared with 40% more downforce on each axle, but also the fourth generation of the Haldex system of four-wheel drive, moreover with steering rear axle, and of the seven-speed single-row sequential ISR transmission.
The less weight that the designers have managed to remove has led to a mass distribution that concentrates 57% of the total – which sees the dry weight of the car stopped at an altitude of 1.525 kg and a weight/power ratio of 1.98 kg/hp – on the rear axle. To slow down the new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ we think of huge 400 mm carbon ceramic brake discs inserted into the 20 “front wheels, while in the larger 21” reserved for the rear brake discs are 380 mm. It is not surprising, therefore, that this creation of the Taurus is of such a level as to have beaten the previous time on the more than 20 km of asphalt of the very famous Green Hell, during which the magnetorheological suspensions, as well as the steering even more direct than the previous models, could give the best of themselves.
