Before moving on to the ranking of the less consumed SUVs, a “methodological” premise is required. We have considered real sports utility vehicles, not products with utilitarian dimensions, good alternatives for use in the city but that nothing has to be scored with a real SUV; The compact SUVs that consume less in this ranking are therefore also quite large. We have also excluded the larger-sized hybrid proposals, which are too much benefiting from the NEDC homologation cycle. It does not mean that the hybrid SUV has been excluded, but the list of models can be practically approached in the everyday use of probable averages. We will, therefore, find almost exclusively diesel SUVs that consume little, because this form of power is still the best for this type of vehicle. To find the ranking of the petrol SUV that consumes little, will serve a special item. On the data referenced, in the average daily use, it is good to calculate an increase of up to 20%. So let’s see what SUVs are consuming less in 2017.

Just more thirsty (4.7 liters/100 km) is the 1.6 MultiJet II, preferable alternative, given the greater availability of horses (120) and torque (320 nm). The Milletré offers, on the latter front, only 200 nm and the transmission provides a 5-speed gearbox. It makes the 172 hours of maximum speed and accelerates in 12 ″ 9 from zero to one hundred hours: not lightning.
Dacia Duster and Mercedes GLA
In the fourth position in the ranking of the SUVs that consume little, two models with a declared consumption of 4.5 liters/100 km. They could not be more different. Adequate torque, 260 nm, just enough performance, with 169 km/h of maximum speed compared to a discrete acceleration, 11 ″ 8 on zero-hundred. Traction two-wheel drive for better fuel consumption.
Mercedes GLA, however, is a premium product, measuring 4 meters and 43 cm in length and recurring to the same 1.5 liters of Renault origin of the duster. Mercedes GLA 180D Automatic offers 109 horsepower and 260 nm of torque, makes the 190 hours and speeds up in 11 ″ 9.

Peugeot 3008 is a whole new project, which has nothing to do with the previous generation. Under the hood, we find the engine 1.6 BlueHDI of PSA, with 120 horsepower and 300 nm. Start & Stop series, is in the setting up business that brand the best consumption (4.2 liters/100 km). With 189 km/h and 11 ″ 2 in acceleration, it has slightly more panache than the Qashqai of equal consumption.
Being the twin of Qashqai, it is obvious to find it on the summit. Renault Kadjar is the diesel SUV that consumes less. The request of 4.1 liters/100 km is imperceptibly lower, same 1.5 DCI from 110 horsepower and 260 nm, identical performance. It varies the style of the bodywork, the necessity dictated by the style of the brand. We are at altitude 4 meters and 45 inches long, obviously in two-wheel drive version.

It has 122 horsepower under the bonnet by the thermal engine, electric unit installed on the gearbox, the torque is 142 nm. Non-exhilarating performance in maximum speed, only 170 km/h, acceptable the speed with which it goes from zero to 100:11 ″. Are the active and business versions to be better in the range, albeit of 0.1 liters/100 km compared to style and lounge.
